Just wondering- was the question being discussed in the thread about Rumple being a bastard to Belle? Is that why they’re saying that journalist was not with them?
Yeah, everyone’s pissed about the domestic abuse claim, so Happy Cool is trying to cover their ass by saying that person was not with them.
On which I call bullshit.
How the question was phrased was really bad too. As if the domestic abuse was a fact. And then the embarrassing “I don’t even recall what happened in the first 15 minutes of Skin Deep” happened, coupled with “I’ve forgotten most things about OUAT”,
Guys, stop sending hate or anything to @HappyCoolOnline on Twitter, the journalist who did called Rumbelle abusive wasn’t from this website

But it begs the question… where was she from? Maybe someone could politely ask?
Piggy being passive aggressive.
I love you.
We can all admit there are some controversial issues regarding the pair. Complex relationships demand complex dynamics and of course such a relationship is going to have problematic aspects (though some people seem to think they’re all one-sided regarding Rumple’s actions and never look at Belle’s). It’s okay to acknowledge this. It’s okay to point this out and ask the actors their take on how their characters deal with this.
That interview, however, did none of that. For one the interviewer clearly didn’t know anything about the basic facts of the Rumbelle relationship (he made her clean the curtains? When? That was all Belle trying to open them up, all it takes is you paying the most basic of attentions to what’s going on on screen). She also didn’t seem to take into account any of the complexity of the relationship (it’s not Belle mindlessly trying to change Rumple, it’s Belle seeing a side of Rumple people don’t usually see, Rumple is a coward and his cowardice drives many of his actions in the show, etc) or the basic premises of the show (Belle is not a mindless slave, Belle willingly pays the price for Rumple’s help and not cause Rumple refuses to do something for nothing but because the basic rules of magic demand a price, so a pretty big favour demands a pretty big price and why should Rumple pay it? Nevermind that he actually offers Belle a way to decide for herself and do something worthwhile with her life like she’s always wanted to).
As for domestic abuse, some of the things pointed out where weak. He was at points cruel and at points kind with her… No. He treated her like he treated everyone (poorly) at the beginning (domestic abusers usually treat the abused badly but are charming and nice to other people) which Belle had no qualms about pointing out, unafraid of punishment (repeat it after me: Belle, almost from the get-go is unafraid of Rumple) and treats her nice from the moment he begins to fall in love with her on (though sometimes he tries to keep his “I’m the Dark One!” mask).
They have fights. ALL relationships do. Both yelled, both got angry. Did Rumple during that first fight become violent? Yes, in a small way. Is it okay? HELL NO. Does it mean he’s abusive? FUCK NO. He did it one time and never, ever did it again. I know people are very passionate about the subject of abuse and how you should never endure such a situation because the abuser promises not to do it again. But it’s not the same a one time mistake than a systematic abuse.
One time when my sister and I were fighting she kicked me hard enough to leave the imprint of her heel on my ribcage. She apologize and never, ever did it again. This was years ago. Should I presume I am in an abusive relationship? I remember once or twice my parents getting so fed up with us that they struck us. Immediately later they apologized, said they were in a bad place at the time and would never do it again and, true to their word, they never did. They felt awful and it never happened again. I go to a shrink and she’s never detected any signs of domestic abuse in my childhood. Is she wrong?
I know domestic abuse is covered up and so people need to be constantly vigilant, to the point of sometimes going to extremes and interpreting a one-time thing of a particular vice as a clear and unequivocal sign of abuse. But that other extreme view, far from helping, does more damage as it discredits real abuse.
I love the Rumbelle spoiler from TVLINE. It would be disappointing if Adam & Eddy didn’t make use of the drama coming from WHEN Belle finds out about the fake dagger.
I just hope that we get a Dark Castle flashback. I’m pretty sure that Rumple during that time, keeps Belle out of his other dealings. So Belle is usually in the dark as to where he goes and who he meets and what he does when he’s away from the Dark Castle.
I’m sure Belle at the time is bothered by it. But due to her status as his maid, there was no way she can really demand for knowledge on these dealings due to the nature of their master/servant relationship.
But now that they’re married, it would be very unhealthy for their relationship for Rumple to keep secrets from Belle…..
I’m sure they’ll work it out. In the meanwhile, I’ll just enjoy the drama. Because let’s face it, any focus on Rumbelle usually involves drama rather than happy times or HAPPY TIMES.
My one great fear from those spoilers is that “honeymoon” is code for “they’re having fun offscreen and therefore we hardly see them”.
I DO hope I’m wrong, I do. So much.
So Sean just tweeted for OQ fans to not lose hope - the road to TL is never easy.
Calling it now they will kill Marian. Drama for the sake of drama.
Its disgusting to kill again an innocent person and parent, for the sake of a stupid ship…
And than this show calls it self a family show..
God fucking damnit.
This show is going to be the death of them.
Honestly, I think I’ll only keep watching for Rumple and Belle.
To be fair lets wait for them to kill Marian to blame them for killing Marian. One can be suspicious, one can have misgivings or doubts or fears (completely justified, given A&E’s track record) but we cannot start treating some speculation as if it’d happened already.
I share the trepidation, though. I hope they do Marian justice in whatever way they see fit.
HOLLY MOTHER SHIT <3WOW im dreaming :O
A quick, cursory check of Adam’s Twitter and some googling makes it clear this is a fake. Her name IS being thrown around as a possible candidate for Elsa but it’s all speculation.

Before I blow a gasket could I have a link to where this is coming from? Thanks, anon (I used to remember when people complained about us complaining that Belle didn’t get enough attention, telling us that of course she didn’t since she wasn’t one of the established core characters that the should was built around… then Hook came along).
Either way the short answer is almost always, sadly, that OUAT’s PR Department sucks.
[ PLEASE NOTE THIS ARTICLE HAS FINALE SPOILERS AND THE FIRST PART WAS REDACTED FOR THAT REASON. ]
TVLINE | Can you confirm yet that Sean Maguire will be a series regular for Season 4?
HOROWITZ | What we can say is we certainly hope to have him back next season — as what [status of cast…
When talking about bringing back Marian: KITSIS | Also, there’s Emma’s side of this — does she feel any guilt? She saved someone’s life, but in a lot of ways crushed someone’s [life], just like her mom did. We’d like to play out the reality of all this.
I really think that I’m done with Once. She did not crush Regina’s life by bringing back Marian. If Robin and Regina are meant to be it will happen. If not, then that’s okay. This doesn’t change anything long term. It brings temporary angst, but if things are meant to be that doesn’t matter.
Losing the person you love is not crushing someones life. I’m getting really upset by the way that the show acts like not having a romantic partner is the same as death. And not having requited love is like some type of attack.
Love is not something you get because you deserve it. Not everyone will be in a romantic relationship. That doesn’t mean us single people (either by choice or circumstance) are to be pitied. We aren’t living half lives. Stop pairing everyone off.
By that definition Regina crushed Robin’s life when she killed Marian and only Emma intervening changed that.
